Our story

How we got to today

2011

Dr. med. Ulrich Baumann develops the concept of measuring the venous pressure non-invasively. Initial feasibility tests show very promizing results.

2011

VeinPress Ltd. is founded in Münsingen, Switzerland.

2012

First scientific results are published by various research groups in renowned scientific journals. Publications have been issued by the university hospitals in Basel, Zurich and Bern, among others.

2013

The VeinPress prototype is further developed in collaboration with ETH Zurich and the University Hospital of Basel.

2014

VeinPress wins the prestigious Swiss Medtech Award together with its scientific partners ETH Zurich and the University Hospital Basel.

2015

The Compremium method takes flight - NASA starts first tests on the ground in their research labs at Houston, TX and in Cologne, Germany. The tests were followed by intensive testing in parabolic flights with NASA crew members out of Bordeaux, France.

2015

PD Dr. med. Richard M. Sellei, Chief Physician of the Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at Sana Klinikum Offenbach, publishes first study on the method of measuring compartment elasticity using pressure related ultrasound to identify patients with potential compartment syndrome.

2016

NASA initiates a series of scientific tests in space on the International Space Station. Other medical applications are explored by various independent research groups.

2019

Three studies on the use of the VeinPress method on elevated compartment pressure of the leg are published. NASA publishes the study on the Assessment of Jugular Venous Blood Flow Stasis and Thrombosis During Spaceflight.

2020

Compremium AG is founded in Muri b. Bern, Switzerland.

2021

Scientific collaboration starts with Maxima Medisch Center and Dr. med. Marc Scheltinga in Veldhoven, Netherlands.

2022

Andrea Rytz, CEO of the Schulthess Klinik in Zurich initiates the scientific collaboration with Compremium.

2022

The first Compremium Compressibility Forum takes place at the PostFinance Arena in Bern.

2022

FDA clearance study conducted at the University Hospital, Inselspital in Bern by Dr. med. Beat Lehmann, Deputy Chief Physician and Head of the Emergency Department and his team.

2023

Clinical partnership established with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

2023

Compremium receives FDA clearance for the CPMX1 System.

2024

CPMX1 is now MIL-STD 810H compliant and ready for duty! MIL-STD-810H is a military standard developed by the U.S. Department of Defense to test the resistance of equipment to environmental conditions.
